چکیده

SYNONYMS None DEFINITION Air indexes refer to indexes employed in wireless broadcast environments to address scalability issue and to facilitate power saving on mobile devices [3]. To retrieve a data object in wireless broadcast systems, a mobile client has to continuously monitor the broadcast channel until the data arrives. This will consume a lot of energy since the client has to remain active during its waiting time. The basic idea of air indexes is that by including index information about the arrival times of data items on the broadcast channel, mobile clients are able to predict the arrivals of their desired data. Thus, they can stay in power saving mode during waiting time and switch to active mode only when the data of their interests arrives.

Modeling spatial distribution of Tehran air pollutants using geostatistical methods incorporate uncertainty maps

The estimation of pollution fields, especially in densely populated areas, is an important application in the field of environmental science due to the significant effects of air pollution on public health. In this paper, we investigate the spatial distribution of three air pollutants in Tehran’s atmosphere: carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and atmospheric particulate matters less ...

The extended split index to efficiently store and retrieve spatial data with standard databases

Geometric and geographic data have special demands on the database query mechanism. To store and retrieve huge amounts of geo data, special spatial databases thus offer geometric column types and spatial indexes. Even though spatial databases are getting more and more available, spatial operations are not standardized, thus applications cannot easily switch between different databases. Moreover...

Spatial, textual and multimedia databases

This paper presents an overview of indexes for spatial and multimedia databases, whose indexes are often of the same kind as spatial ones. Records in spatial databases are characterized by their locations in an n-dimensional space where n is 1 or greater. A spatial database query involves finding all objects at a certain location, or finding all locations or areas occupied by a certain set of o...

Optimizing Spatial Databases

This paper describes the best way to improve the optimization of spatial databases: through spatial indexes. The most commune and utilized spatial indexes are R-tree and Quadtree and they are presented, analyzed and compared in this paper. Also there are given a few examples of queries that run in Oracle Spatial and are being supported by an R-tree spatial index. Spatial databases offer special...
